Looks to me like he just drops it, but I just spent the last 8.5 hours staring at switch ports and DSL profiles, so at this point you could do the ‘my thumb is severed’ trick and I’d probably believe it. ;)
At its core, the fandom itself is not toxic. It’s not a bad thing to be a fan of a wonderful actor and someone who seems to be a pretty fucking cool human being.
HOWEVER…..it’s the people in the fandom that bring it down. That bullshit about running around and comparing and belittling others works because it’s not this? Toxic.
Inboxing writers and telling them that you aren’t reading this because it doesn’t contain your daily dose of smut? Toxic
Sending writers ‘ffs tag your smut’ when it’s properly tagged, warned and below the cut? Toxic
Or how about just the general shit behaviors of some? You can’t write this because I don’t like it. You must cater to me. Toxic
Or demanding a writer’s time and effort because you need entertainment. Toxic
There is also the bullshit of being too immature to realize that there are categories of fiction for all types, that’s why warnings and tags exist, yet if it’s not your cup of tea, instead of scrolling by, we have this big soap box moment where the writer is dragged and the call to be blocked is signaled like the fucking bat signal? Toxic
The fact that minority writers are dragged for creating X(ethnicity)Reader when they should be applauded? Toxic.
It’s getting old. Write what you want to write, read what you want to read and if it’s not your thing, move the fuck on. It’s not that hard.
